The Master of Science in Mental Health Psychology (MSMHP) is a globally benchmarked postgraduate degree designed for individuals committed to improving psychological well-being through research-informed and practice-oriented approaches. It equips professionals with advanced knowledge of mental health, psychological theory, counseling techniques, and applied intervention strategies relevant across clinical, educational, and organizational contexts.

    13 (12 core modules + 1 Capstone Project)

The MSMHP programme follows a reflective, open-learning approach combining curated Open Educational Resources (OERs) with in-depth assignments. For each module, students are required to:

Students are expected to:

1.Access the provided open-source course link
2.Sign up and complete the course
3.Download the free Statement of Participation upon course completion
4.Write a Reflection Paper (minimum 4,000 words) addressing:
a) Key Concepts Learned from the Course – 1,000 words
b) Application in Real-Life/Workplace Context – 1,500 words
c) Challenges in Implementation – 1,500 words
6.Upload both the Statement of Participation and Reflection Paper via the LMS
7.Repeat the above for all 12 modules
8.Complete a final 5,000-word Capstone Project

Each module is worth 5 ECTS, except the Capstone Project, which is 30 ECTS:

5.MHP520 – Psychological Research, Obedience and Ethics
6.MHP540 – Motivation and Factors Affecting Motivation
7.MHP560 – Investigating Psychology
8.MHP580 – Introduction to Child Psychology
9.MHP620 – Professional Relationships with Young People
10.MHP640 – Mental Health Practice
11.MHP660 – Challenging Ideas in Mental Health
12.MHP680 – Becoming a Critical Social Work Practitioner
13.MHP700 – Capstone Project (30 ECTS)

Capstone Project
Following the completion of all 12 modules, students must submit a 5,000-word Capstone Project. The project allows for exploration of a specific mental health or psychological topic and must demonstrate integration of theoretical insight and applied knowledge.

3.VAE Route (Validation des Acquis de l’ExpΓ©rience)

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  1. Hold a recognized Bachelor’s degree in any field, or
  2. Possess a recognized Postgraduate Diploma (Level 7 equivalent) in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or Mental Health, and
  3. At least 1 year of professional experience in mental health, social work, counseling, or related roles

Mature Entry Route (case-by-case):

  • At least 9 years of verified teaching or educational leadership experience, with documented involvement in curriculum, assessment, or school operations
English Language Proficiency
  1. Waived if prior education was in English
  2. Others may submit TOEFL/IELTS or take the EIU–Paris in-house test
Technical Requirements
  1. Basic digital literacy
  2. Stable internet connection and access to a laptop or tablet

Graduates of the MSMHP programme will be able to:

1.Analyze key concepts and theories in mental health psychology
2.Design and implement ethically sound interventions
3. Reflect critically on professional practice in mental health settings
4.Conduct applied research with real-world relevance
5.Advocate for mental well-being across educational, social, and organizational contexts

There are no exams or oral defenses. Assessment includes:

1. 12 Reflection Papers (4,000 words each)
2.1 Capstone Project (5,000 words)
3.Verified Statements of Participation from each open-source course

All learning activities, submission forms, and feedback are managed via the EIU–Paris LMS, a secure and intuitive platform offering:

  • One-time full payment:

  • 3 Installments

    €600 Γ— 3 = €1,800

  • 6 Installments

    €350 Γ— 6 = €2,100

Installments are paid monthly until completion. Fees for graduation, degree attestation, and DHL shipment of original documents are billed separately.
