The Master of Science in Innovative Education and Teaching (MSIET) programme at EIU–Paris is structured to support deep learning through a flexible, self-paced academic model. It combines selectively referenced asynchronous learning materials, independent research, and reflection-based application-oriented assignments, allowing students to engage meaningfully with contemporary educational theories and practices.

Students are expected to:

1. Engage with Asynchronous Learning Materials
For each module, students will study curated academic resources (readings) β€” designed to deepen understanding of core topics in education and teaching innovation.

2.Submit a Reflection-Based Application-Oriented Assignment (AOA)
Each module culminates in a written AOA of 3,500 to 4,000 words, where students are required to reflect on and apply the knowledge gained to real or simulated teaching scenarios. These assignments encourage critical thinking, practical analysis, and integration of theory with practice.

3.Repeat the Process for All 7 Core Modules
This step-by-step modular approach ensures continuity in learning, while enabling students to build a strong foundation across diverse aspects of educational leadership, curriculum development, assessment, and classroom management.

4.Complete a Final 5,000-word Action Research Paper
Serving as the capstone of the programme, the Action Research Paper allows students to identify a relevant issue in their educational context, design and implement a small-scale empirical research project, and analyze outcomes to inform professional practice. This final paper reflects the student’s capacity to connect academic knowledge with real-world educational innovation.

This structured yet flexible model is ideal for working professionals and educators who wish to advance their expertise while balancing academic study with their careers.

Each core module is worth 10 ECTS, and the Action Research Paper is worth 20 ECTS:

1.EDUC510 – Educational Philosophies: An Overview
Explore classical and contemporary philosophies and their application in today’s classrooms.

2.EDUC520 – Curriculum & Instruction Planning & Development
Study how to design, implement, and evaluate learner-centered curricula aligned with global trends.

3.EDUC530 – Dimensions of Learning: Application in Classroom
Learn how to apply cognitive and social learning theories to real classroom challenges.

4.EDUC540 – Assessment in Education: Measurement & Evaluation
Gain competence in designing and interpreting assessments to improve learner outcomes.

5.EDUC550 – Psychology of Learning: Cognitive Psychology Lessons
Delve into human development, motivation, and educational psychology for better student engagement.

6.EDUC560 – Educational Technology: The 21st Century Classroom
Integrate digital tools, learning platforms, and modern tech into classroom delivery.

7.EDUC570 – Classroom Dynamics & Behaviour Management
Master classroom management techniques to create inclusive, positive learning environments.

8.EDUC580 – Action Research Paper (20 ECTS)Conduct a self-directed inquiry into a professional educational issue, applying academic theory to generate solutions and improvements in teaching practice.

Each module is assessed through a final Application-Oriented Assignment (AOA) of 3,500 to 4,000 words. These assignments are structured to:

1.Measure practical understanding of education theories
2.Evaluate problem-solving and innovation skills
3.Assess real-world applicability of educational models and approaches

The programme concludes with a 5,000-word Action Research Paper, which allows students to:

1.Identify a challenge or opportunity in an educational setting.
2.Conduct small-scale, practice-based research
3.Analyze findings and recommend solutions backed by scholarly evidence


There are no exams or oral defenses required under this programme.

All learning activities, submission forms, and feedback are managed via the EIU–Paris LMS, a secure and intuitive platform offering:

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  1. A recognized Bachelor’s degree in education or any discipline, or
  2. A Postgraduate Diploma (Level 7) in education or relevant areas, and
  3. A minimum 1 year of professional teaching, educational administration, or training experience

Mature Entry Route (case-by-case):

  • At least 9 years of verified teaching or educational leadership experience, with documented involvement in curriculum, assessment, or school operations
English Language Proficiency
  1. Waived if prior education was in English
  2. Others may submit TOEFL/IELTS or take the EIU–Paris in-house test
Technical Requirements
  1. Basic digital literacy
  2. Stable internet connection and access to a laptop or tablet
