West African Online University (WAOU) is a subsidiary of West Africa Education Foundation formed by professionals and entrepreneurs who continue to work at the interjection of education, innovation and leadership to create business synergy required to drive business growth and sustainability in the Gambia and sub-region at large. WAOU’s shared focus on practical learning, collaboration and capacity building is highly reflected on its provision of contemporary, professional and industry relevant competences needed to nurture and sustain best practices through the access to quality and affordable higher education from its international partner universities. WAOU aims to redefine how knowledge is acquired and applied through the development of people, building of responsible systems and fostering performance driven work environments expected to effectively lead successful teams, programmes and businesses sustainably. WAOU exists to develop the competences of business practitioners globally with specific attention to the sub-region with the main aim of driving improved growth and sustainability of respective industries in this sub-region, West Africa. Business performance has not been near optimum in the sub-region which has driven WAOU’s intention to venture into provision of highly needed international programmes to generate lasting impacts, supporting career growth, vibrant leadership and real world applications across West Africa’s industries.
