EIU French authorization and international accreditation – important facts to know and understand !!!
France has a very unique system, and many people around the world, including ministries of education in different countries, don’t understand the French system – which is one of the oldest education systems in the world, even older than the UK or American systems.
In France, a private university is allowed to choose to run French national curricula, which is delivered and assessed in the French language – for which the government would require local (national) accreditation.
Conversely, institutions like ours offer international type programs and degrees – which are then out of the scope of the French ministry to accredit anyway – and hence they keep away from all these programs as this is not their scope of function.
Another difference is the fact that our international type programs are all delivered and assessed 100% in the English language, because we want our students to be internationally employable and mobile (not restricted to France or French-speaking countries only, which in terms of the percentage of the world population, is significantly minuscule).
Hence the Ministry in France treats institutions like ours differently in that…
- We function independently and run on our funding and income.
- Unlike French curricula/medium institutions – we do NOT get any state funding for students as well as for faculty – this is another reason why the Ministry has no scope of authority over us beyond that of evaluating, approving, and authorizing our type of institutions and programs without getting involved in “national Accreditation,” which logically does not apply to us for all the above reasons.
- Our programs are international type programs, and our degrees are named the same as international-type degrees – no French nomenclature is used for our degrees, hence clearly distinguishing ourselves from all national-curriculum/French-degree type institutions in France.
- Our medium of instruction and assessment is 100% ENGLISH, not French.
- Our focus is not French-speaking or French government funding-seeking students; rather, our target market is worldwide, especially students who are marginalized and have difficulty accessing high-quality higher education due to the commercialization of international education and very high tuition fees by other profit-oriented institutions around the world; one of our core values is to be one of the most affordable, accessible, and inclusive international higher education providers globally, and we are very proud at the same time humbled by this.
- Finally – since the French ministry does not have the scope or function to accredit our type of institutions and programs, we seek and have successfully obtained international accreditation, acceptance, endorsement, accolades, and quality assurance/quality control marks at outstanding levels by bodies such as ASIC, UK, QS Intelligence (5-star rating overall), CEOWORLD Magazine which has ranked us as the top-51 best business school in the world, and currently undergoing nationally recognized American accreditation by ACBSP. IMPORTANT NOTE
EIU-Paris operates through approval and supervision of the French Ministry of National Education and Higher Education, Research and Innovation. However, we are NOT nationally accredited, hence our programmes are not nationally accredited as well. This is on purpose, because in France, to be nationally accredited, an institution needs to 1) offer programmes in French medium (we offer all our programmes in English medium ONLY) and 2) recruit and enroll local French students in France (our target market is global, international students) – because we purposely did not meet these two criteria, we are not nationally accredited in France. But this is okay for all our students and graduates / alumni, because none of our scholars are from France itself. We have over 8,000 students from all over the world, studying in our 100% online/distance learning degree programmes. We are institutionally accredited by ASIC, UK – which is an international accreditation body. We also are currently programmatic Accreditation candidate for our BBA, MBA and DBA programmes, with ACBSP, US. Distance learning is the ‘traditional’ self-study programme, also known as a ‘correspondence course’.

Step 4: The Committee of Admissions will review your applications and send you the payment details if your application is selected.

Admission Process for Degree programmes:
1.) Your admission is not complete without the necessary supporting documentation that must be submitted to the EIU Academic Team for review.
2.) Upon verification of your documents, you will receive your Acceptance Letter.
3.) Once you accept the offer, the corresponding invoice shall be created and sent to you.
4.) You must then settle your fees as per the deadline.
5.) After payment has been received, you will be officially on board to begin the programme via the EIU Learning Platform.

Degree Programmes:
1. Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A):
– High School completion or its equivalent qualification such as IGCSE (5Cs and above), GED (2,800 and above), A-Level, IB, etc.
– IELTS 5.5 or a score of 65% and above on EIU English Proficiency Test (EIUEPT). Those with IELTS below 5.5 or EIUEPT below 65% need to take additional English courses (Practical English for Professional Success – CEF Level B2)
2. Master of Business Administration (M.B.A)
– A Bachelor’s Degree qualification in any subject from a recognized institution.
– A professional qualification equivalent to a degree and a minimum of two years of working experience.
– Mature and high potential candidates without a degree or equivalent qualifications but hold Diplomas or Advanced Diplomas with more than six years of work experience of which at least two years are at supervisory – managerial level.
– Mature and high potential candidates without Diploma qualifications but with more than 8 years of – work experience of which at least 3 years are at supervisory – managerial levels.
– Demonstrate English Language proficiency in order to participate in the programme taught in English.
3. Master of Arts in Education (M.A.Ed.)
– Recognized Bachelor Degree in any field.
– Sufficient English language proficiency (IELTS 6.0 or its equivalent).
– At least 3 years of working experience as a professional teacher.
Note: Mature & high potential candidates without a degree could be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Yes, you can apply for more than one programme however you will have to send different applications for each programme that you want to enroll in.
Academic counsellors are engaged as a link between learners and EIU. They perform various roles such as facilitating learning of subject matter content, assessing assignments, providing motivation and encouragement and supervising research papers.
Currently EIU supports 2 payment options :

PayPal is a service that allows you to pay online, send and receive money without sharing your billing information. (Please note that there is a 5% service fee charge.) - Direct Bank Account Transfer:
Make your payment directly into our bank account. Please use your Order ID as the payment reference. You will receive an acknowledgement from EIU confirming the payment only once the funds have been cleared in our account.
No we do not promote any kind of early bird offers.
Currently we do not support loans for the study.
EIU will process the refund to the students as soon as possible and, in any case, within 30 working days from the day on which they received the mail confirming it.
Immediate Cancellation: If a student wishes to cancel the programme immediately after the enrollment i.e., before accessing any of the modules, then the refund would be 50% of the tuition fee paid.
Cancellation after accessing 1 module: If a student wishes to cancel the programme after initiating 1 module (Irrespective of whether the module is completed) then the refund would be 25% of the tuition fee paid.
Cancellation after accessing 2 modules: If a student wishes to cancel the programme after initiating 2 module (irrespective of whether the module is completed) then there would be NO refund.
No, distance education programmes do not offer placement assistance of any kind.
EIU holds a graduation once a year, the dates for which are decided by the University. Usually, the graduation is held in December, and students are invited especially for this.
* Please note that there is an additional charge to attend the EIU graduation ceremony.
Graduation is the official confirmation of the completion of all the requirements for a programme. It is also necessary to ensure that the student’s academic file is complete before a certificate is awarded. Students should keep close track of all coursework completed and keep in regular contact with EIU. A student may initiate the application for graduation after the submission of action research paper.
If one wishes to be a part of the annual graduation ceremony:
- Fill out the graduation form indicating that you would like to be present for the annual graduation ceremony.
- Each student can bring along 1 special guest.
- A nominal fee needs to be payed to EIU for the graduation which will include Banquet for Graduation, Graduation Gown, Hat etc.
If one does not wish to be a part of the annual graduation ceremony:
- Fill out the graduation form indicating that you will not be present for the annual graduation ceremony.
- Submit appropriate fees to EIU for the graduation certificate.
- The graduation certificate will be sent within two months of applying for graduation.
Both registered and unregistered students who plan to graduate but did not get added to the degree list should contact the info@stage.eiu.ac
EIU organises annual graduation ceremony in Paris and Bangkok.
You can purchase additional textbooks if you feel the need but EIU will provide you with the course content.
Assignments will be submitted online itself.
Grading System:
BOLOGNA PROCESS
A key principle in this process is that decisions on the value of a particular award, programme of study or part thereof are the responsibility of the receiving institution or organisation.
In order to ensure the highest possible standards of credit transfer, the European International University, Paris has adopted the guidelines of the European Bologna process system based on ECTS credits. The Bologna Process is a series of ministerial meetings and agreements between European countries designed to ensure comparability in the standards and quality of higher education qualifications.
Through the Bologna Accords, the process has created the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), in particular under the Lisbon Recognition Convention.
European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System
The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a standard aimed at comparing the study attainments and performances of higher education students across the European Union and other collaborating European countries. For each successfully completed study programme, ECTS credits are awarded. One academic year corresponds to 60 ECTS-credits, that are equivalent to 1,500–1,800 hours of study in all countries, respective of standard or qualification type, and is used to facilitate transfer and progression throughout the Union.
Certificates issued by the European International University, Paris have been accepted by Institutions, Business Schools, and Universities of several countries.
DEGREE PROGRAMMES:
EIU-Paris follows European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS academic credits scheme). The ECTS credit system makes degree programmes and student performance more transparent and comparable all across European Union countries.
B.B.A Grading Scheme:
Each B.B.A. programme consists of 24 core modules including a final year research project module. Each of the 24 modules carry 7.5 ECTS (7.5*24 = 180 ECTS).
M.B.A. Grading Scheme:
Each M.B.A. programme consists of 8 core modules and an Action Research paper for the area of specialisation. Each of the 8 modules carry 7.5 ECTS (7.5*8 = 60 ECTS) and the Action Research paper carries 30 ECTS making total ECTS for the M.B.A. programme 90.
M.S.IET. Grading Scheme:
The M.S.IET. programme consists of 7 core modules and an Action Research paper. Each of the 7 modules and action research paper carry 7.5 ECTS (7.5*8 = 60 ECTS) making the total ECTS for M.A.Ed. programme 60. Before the evaluation, the results are divided into two subgroups: Pass and Fail.

Each module that you finish will have assignments to assess your knowledge, based on your score your ECTS will be decided.
You can create forums on eiu.ac website with fellow students to clarify their doubts and to have healthy discussions about the subject. These forums are specific to a particular specialisation. We also encourage the students to set up their own support groups.
