Eco-Design Thinking for Personal, Corporate and Social Innovation

How to Become a Disruptive Eco-Design Thinker Like
Elon Musk

We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used
when we created them. –Albert Einstein

Owing to the lessons learned throughout the COVID-19 crisis, it is about time we design a better world, one that is characterized by empathy, personal
integrity, no corruption, no racism, respect for nature, working smarter, circularity, a changed role of HR, good governance, and ethical leadership.
The new normal in the COVID-19 era, along with animals and nature, requires empathy. I refer to what Jane Goodall said: “disrespect for animals
caused the pandemic.” Along similar lines, Sir David Attenborough said: “Humans are a plague on Earth.” Human activities are having a catastrophic
impact on our planet and on climate change. Empathy is strongly related to personal integrity, which is required to take action to combat climate
change. It is not climate change that needs to be tackled but personal integrity of people. The world has more bad people than good people, which
is probably the reason so few engage in climate change actions.

To design a better world sustainably, you need a design approach in which personal innovation, personal disruption, and personal integrity are
embedded. It requires eco-innovation that links to personal innovation, corporate innovation, and social innovation. This book also talks about
Preface viii Eco-Design Thinking for Personal, Corporate and Social Innovation this new eco-innovation model and promotes eco-innovation through ecodesign thinking.
